Jewels on Ninth receives all of our Swiss Army gear from Victorinox, the family-owned business based out of Switzerland that has famously impressed the world with quality steel for over 100 years. While Victorinox does not create custom orders, their diverse selection ensures that Jewels on Ninth can find a tool for everyone in Cranbrook. Jewels on Ninth also offers engraving services to make your Swiss Army knife extra special.
The Original Swiss Army Knife
The classic, red, medium-sized pocket knife includes the Victorinox functionality found in all of the models of Swiss steel since 1890. Within this original style, Victorinox offers plenty of different models. The SwissChamp is our favourite, featuring 19 different tools. That’s a combined 33 functions packed into a light 6.5oz. This style is based on the original Officer’s knife from the early 1900s, designed for the Swiss Army. Aside from the usual few blades and screwdrivers, the SwissChamp also has scissors, pliers, a wire bender and wire crimper, both wood and metal saws, a magnifying glass, and a small chisel. Transform almost nothing into something in seconds with the SwissChamp.
Small Knives with Fun Designs
Swiss Army knives aren’t only functional. Some of the newer Swiss knives really stand out from the crowd with their flashy designs. Have a little fun while you tinker with one of Victorinox’s tiny versions of their classic pocket knife. The Classic models weigh in at only 0.7oz, and come in 12 different designs. Choose from Camouflage , Giraffe, sneakers and more—all bright colours and intricate artwork on the Classic 58mm model. These miniature knives still pack 7 functions to tinker on the go: a small blade, scissors, a nail file, one small screwdriver, a toothpick, and tweezers, all attached to a key ring.
Large Pocket Knives
Sometimes you need a bigger handle to match a bigger problem. Victorinox’s large pocket knives are perfect for the trickiest of troubles. At Jewels on Ninth, we love the RangerGrip 61. It’s 5.1 inches long and weighs in at 4.7oz for added manoeuvrability without any added weight. It’s 11 functions are the same as the original Swiss Army knives, but the extra grip on the handle makes all the difference. Handymen and women across the globe prefer the RangerGrip 61 for more heavy-duty tinkering because of the larger, locking blades. The RangerGrip 61 fares especially well in the wilderness—bring it on your next camping trip.Jewels on Ninth doesn’t just specialize in diamonds—we know our way around a Swiss Army knife too. These handy-dandy, pocket-sized tools are perfect for any sticky situation, no matter how adventurous you are. Some come equipped with scissors and nail files, while others are decked out to build a small house (almost). Invest in Swiss steel for long-lasting quality.
Victorinox Watch Collections
Time management is a skill that many of us struggle with. Victorinox watches made from Swiss steel promise to turn even the tardiest person prompt.
100 years after Karl Elesner—the founder of Victorinox Swiss Army knives—manufactured the first multi-tool pocket knives, his great-grandchildren ventured into the world of watches. These watches are made in Switzerland with all of the same Swiss quality we have come to recognize from a Victorinox product. Their claim to fame is their lengthy process of quality control tests, as well as an unmatched balance between functional performance and fashionable elegance in all of their styles. Jewels on Ninth can help you sort through the available models to find one that makes you tick.
A SwissTool is equally as important to your collection as the original Swiss knife. Victorinox’s Swiss tools offer more diverse options for trickier problems. Their larger size is complemented by a leather belt pouch for extra accessibility—this pocket gadget won’t spend much time in its pouch, though. Swiss tools differ from Swiss knives in their design, including the locking blades and specified functions. Rather than the focus being a pocket knife, the SwissTool series draws attention to retractable pliers. We like the SwissTool Spirit XC especially for its stainless steel strength, needle-nosed plier base, crate opener, multi-purpose hook and large blade.
